OGUN - 2nd turn of the registation (06-22.09.)

The first turn of on-line registration for OGUN courses has finished. Second turn will start from 6th of September (9 p.m.). You can register at http://rejestracja.usos.uw.edu.pl.
On-line courses take place on the e-learning platform http://www.kampus.uw.edu.pl/. Make sure that you have been successfully enrolled in USOS because only then you can join the course you have chosen.

We invite all lecturers of all faculties of University of Warsaw to participate in the creation of the Interdisciplinary Database of Academic e-Courses (IBIZA — Interdysciplinarna Baza Internetowych Zajęć Akademickich).
Projects of courses should be submitted here. Access key is available at: d.sidor(at)uw.edu.pl.

The deadline for projects submission is September 30, 2009.

Polish contribution to the exploration of Mars

Jan Kotlarz, COME UW, has created a computer programme for analysing satellite photos of Mars and for making three-dimensional models of its surface. The application might help NASA unravel the mystery of forming the landscape of the Red Planet.

Professor Madey elected the President of EUNIS

At the end of June the EUNIS Congress was held in Santiago de Compostela in Spain. EUNIS (European University Information Systems) is an organization which deals with all matters concerning the application of modern IT systems in higher education. More than 130 European universities and scientific institutions are members of EUNIS, including seven Polish universities and a Polish organization MUCI (Interuniversity Centre for IT) grouping all Polish classical universities. Moreover, one Israeli university and two American universities are EUNIS associate members.
